Hi lsgi, Please have a look at these videos, to create a clock ( https://learn.bentley.com/app/Public/ViewLearningPathDetails?lpId=109367 ) To change the material property of the door, 1.Right click on the door 2.Go to the "Modify" option and then follow this wiki ( https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/w/building_analysis_and_design__wiki/38166/how-to-add-new-material-i-e-property-instance-for-glass-in-doors ) Hope this helps. Wiki Page: Classifying Areas
Some organizations may wish to classify each area as a particular type of space to assist in the collection of statistics about space use. The demonstration database includes a space classification hierarchy based on DIN 277, and you can classify each new area using these classification codes. You can classify an area when you create the area, or you can classify or change the classification later through the Classify Area dialog box. Each area classification has a unique code number depicting its level in the hierarchy. As well as a code number, each entry in the hierarchy has an icon. Codes which display a red icon are selectable, those which display a blue icon are not. If the icon has an arrow (like a Windows shortcut) it is a virtual classification which maps to a real one. Each area classification includes the area classifications lower down the hierarchy. So, for instance the classification 1.1.3.1.1 Main Office Area includes all the classifications between 1.1.3.1.1.1 Individual Offices and 1.1.3.1.1.5 Anterooms. Using these classification codes, you can design report scripts which can produce area reports at any level in the hierarchy. To classify an area In Bentley Facilities Planer either the design file or the Browse window , right-click on a room and from the menu that opens, choose Classify Areas. or In Bentley Facilities Manager,right-click on a room and from the menu that opens, choose Classify Areas. The Classify Area dialog box opens, displaying the area's current classification. If the area is currently unclassified, the word 'Unclassify' displays. Do one of the following: Click the Browse button to navigate to and select the appropriate classification to use for the area. or If you know the classification code, type it in the Classification drop down list box Click OK. The area is classified and the Classify Area dialog box closes. Note: To remove an area's classification, open the Classify Area dialog box and select Unclassify from the drop down list.

Forum Post: Bentley Expedition: Siemensstadt
Interesting newsflash anouncing Siemens' venture into smart property development. Siemens is a big property owner and is actively looking at IoT, Digital Twins etc and also a big Bentley shareholder. I wonder if there isn't an opportunity to put Bentley's old Facilities Planner to work here. Haven't head much about BFP in a while, but it seems to have gone web-based and moved away from OBD. Digital Twins could be an entry point to the facilities management market. Archibus has a $2.7b annual revenue. I suspect mainly in the commercial office sector. So, what would a more manufacturing / light-industrial facilities management platform look like? Siemens is a bit too big to be considered Mittlestand, but the 'WeWork-for-hardware-geeks' incubator-type spaces that its technoparks offer could find use for more IoT ? Shared industrial / prototyping equipment and presentation facilities? There would be a natural business case for Siemens to start geeking up its own corporate premises to increase productivity at home and abroad , I have been wondering how Bentley's new emphasis on Digital Twins will change the way we old CAD app jockeys interface with Mstn and its verticals. I think that the shift away from the initial design and construct phase to meeting the needs of the total life cycle will result in the blurring of the various tools we use. We will be more likely to start out with a web browser-like interface when we 'launch' into work? It would feel like starting in a mapping or game app that has real time SCADA -type feeds from the 'real world' and a task or 'mission'-based interface. More realtime connections with mobile, AR/MR apps used by people carrying out the work and finding information using the 3d model as a 3d filing system in support work in the field. More emphasis on incorporating surveys and 'reality' capture using photos, photogrammetry , laser / theodolite, thermal scans ? More incoprorating of streaming data like SCADA, traffic / pedflow data and CCTV feeds. More emphasis on spaceplanning and furniture/equipment design and management / procurement tasks? More compliance checking tools? Number of occupants per room againts means of escape, cooling provision etc. Configured for use by non-specialists, of course. More layered apps like Opencities Planner <> ContextStation <> OpenRoads Designer that allow seamless transition between apps that are aimed at viewing in a browser, simplified modeling and full-detail modeling. Maybe a good way to tap into the casual user user market by starting with the web-based apps and letting the user graduate to more powerful desktop tools as required. More data validation tools for ensuring data quality when adding info to the twin. ?? Digital Twins are by definition aimed at capturing or 'twinning' how the world is working... not just what it looks like (ContextCapture). Capturing and storing geotechnical info is also pretty important (OpenGround, Plaxis/SoilVision and OpenFlood) and GIS info (Bentley Map/ESRI?). I suppose all that SCADA type and streaming stuff will be covered by Siemens Mindsphere etc. Given that only about 1% of the building stock is being constructed at any time, most of the info making up the DT will NOT come from BIM models and not very well structured. The info would not even be CAD geometry-based.

Sir I turned off the Link markers from the Presentation tab & the link markers are invisible now. But if I close the file & again open the same file , the link markers are visible again. I want the link markers to be permanently invisible so that whenever I close & open the file, the markers should be invisible. Is there any way to do so?

Forumsbeitrag: Missing Architectural parts .xml
By default the UK dataset is delivered with the Architectural_parts.xml This seems to be missing from my install of Version 5 Open Buildings All the other parts are all there such as : Architectural Spaces_parts.xml Electrical_parts.xml Fireproofing_parts.xml IFC_parts_si.xml Mechanical Spaces_parts.xml Mechanical_parts.xml Structural_parts.xml Has anyone else experienced this. Apart from importing a new Architectural_parts.xml file to the parts folder, is there anything else I can do to rectify this? Regards

Hi Jide, Apart from importing, you may try and repair following this wiki or may go for a clean installation. Regards, Arghyakamal

Forumsbeitrag: RE: Missing Architectural parts .xml
That might take a while and may not guarantee success, besides I don't think I want to wipe out all my current settings. It might be useful if someone from Bentley can email the UK Architectural_parts.xml file to me at jydeda@outlook.com so I can just drop it into the parts folder Many thanks

Hi Ignacio, This is a fairly old thread so there could have been any number of changes since then. However, it may be best to start a new thread and include any details you can, including the version as you did here, but also information about the workspace and any differences between these machines.
