Forum Post: Spaces

Just getting to grips with Spaces... Copule of issues: 1/. The associative flood space tool is useful... but, after I've used it I sometimes want to make changes which go beyond its capabilities - splitting the room in half for example. The flooded space has no handles and it seems impossible to redfine to fit the new half-room. I can flood new Spaces, but this looses any data I've already entered. Is there any way that I can drop an "Associative Flooded Space" to "Non-Associative" soI can manipulate it with the handles? 2/. When I place a "By-points" space, it seems I cannot stretch/manipulate it using a fence? Instead of stretching, as I'd expect, the whole space moves. Is there any good reason for this? It'd be much more helpful if it would respond to the fence, enabling me to move the room walls and the Space(s) in one fence operation. 3/. Finally I'm trying to figure out where the Spaces should ideally be used. I think the intention is that they are drawn within the 3D model, and then DatGroup Annotations or Drawing Rules are used to annotate the plan - I presume these annotations should be placed in the DV Drawing... Alternatively I'm considering a better idea might be a separate 2D file where I place both the space and the annotation and then reference it onto the plot sheets over the DV plan? This might give me more graphic control, and makes them more of a annotation/scheduling tool rather than a modelling one. Appreciate any thoughts or advice. Mark ABD SS3
