We've tried enabling the Rasterize option in the Print/Plot dialog when working with Dynamic Views, but that process can take a very long time when printing many sheets. And although switching from Dynamic to either Cached or Legacy speed up print performance without needing to enable the Rasterize option, switching back and forth is not always an option in our workflow. Are there any other things we can try? Steps to Accomplish Yes, there are a few other options you can try that may help imnprove plotting performance for Dynamic Views: 1) For plots that require the Rasterized option for the desired output, it can be handy to create a custom PDF.PLTCFG configuration that has the resolution set to a lower value, such as 100 DPI; e.g., "PDF100.PLTCFG". Reducing the resolution from 300 to 100 DPI can cut plotting time by as much as 90%. Reducing plot size also has the same effect. 2) Try setting the configuration variable “MS_PLT_ENGINE_CMDLINE_ARGS =-wsBB_DISCIPLINE=MicroStation” (without the quotes). This may also help reduce the time it takes to generate a plot by loading AECOsim Building Designer in “MicroStation Mode” during the printing process. 3) In general, using the Cached Visible Edges option for non-rasterized plots can be a key factor to improve printing speed. So wherever using Cached views is feasible, it is highly recommended.
