Hello,
We are using AECOsim BD SS4 (08.11.09.622) runnning Windows 7 SP1 on a large renovation project. Due to complex construction phase requirements we have set up 3D model files to store all live 3D objects. We then created Dynamic View Model files to help us organize the location of existing and new annotation cells for doors and windows. The DV file is then referenced to a Sheet file (2d) for printing purposes. This set up ensures that we have a placeholder to keep track and organize these annotation tags for all 3d objects. This setup presents a problem we have encountered. Please refer to the sample snapshots as follows.
To illustrate I have posted a zip file that contains 3 sample dgns as follows.
File name Description
ZZ-Live.dgn A model file that contains live 3D walls and doors.
ZZ-Composite.dgn A model file that contains additional design model (dynamic views) used to assemble various parts of the building – 3D.
ZZ-DV.dgn A 2D drawing file that contains a Dynamic view (Model: DV_phase-0) to be referenced into a sheet model – 2D.
Note: Door annotation cells are auto-generated via the dynamic view (ZZ-DV.dgn)
Issue: When a 3D door is deleted from the ZZ-Live.dgn file the auto-generated annotation cells in the ZZ-DV.dgn file becomes orphaned.
See illustration as follows.

Open the file ZZ-Live.dgn and delete a 3d door. | Before deleting the door, the ZZ-DV.dgn looks like this. |
Save ZZ-Live.dgn and the Open ZZ-DV.dgn and see the annotation cell left behind as shown.
We can update all unwanted annotations by deleting them and regenerate them via key-in "bbannotate byvisibility" as this works fine if the annotation cells have not been moved to a new location. For example, some existing Annotation cells may have been moved so that the annotation cells are not obscuring the objects underneath them. When the new annotation cells are re-generated they go back to its default location, which requires the users to move them.
It would help us save a tone of time if these broken annotation cells could be deleted and updated when the 3D objects are modified (specifically moved or deleted). We appreciate any suggestions or comments you may have. Thank you.
