Steve-- you have confirmed that the Drawing Identifier should link back to the Callout, even if edited. We now have that working consistently I discovered our problem: we thought that the Name field-- which shows in the Title properties right below the Identifier--was for use as a nominal English language title, a sort of logical name for use in the Sheet File. For a while we thought it was the Logical Name of the reference. If it was the actual model name we thought it would be called "Drawing Name" So we edited it to an appropriate phrase to display on the Sheet. This changed only the Name property, the property "Drawing Name" in the links did not change. The references still worked, but the Drawing Identifier field became disabled, by some hidden mechanism. We did not understand this then, which lend me to post this thread. When we manually paste the actual name of the Drawing model back in the Name property box, the Drawing Identifier s now link back to the Callouts properly. So, what is the purpose of the Name field, is it redundant?
