Andreas, Once you define the column grids, which utilize the floors defined in the floor manager, you select "Create/Update Grid Models". A model for each floor is created in the file you are in. The grids are created at the Z elevation of the specific floor. The default model remains empty. Reference the grid models to your working models as needed. One thing you may want to do is, in the grid file, in the default model, reference each of the floor grids. This gives you a look at all the grids in relationship to each other. This model may or may not be referenced to any other models according to you needs. When building dynamic view drawings are generated, in the Reference Presentation Building section you can turn on the "Show Grid System" toggle and the pertinent grid will display for that drawing, including sections. The definitions for the grid, the name, start floor, end floor, spacing, etc. are stored in the floor manager dgnlib. The settings for the grid, levels, bubble text, size, etc. are stored in a settings file (an XML file). This settings file is the same one that is used by the structural import function, (the ISM, RAM and STAAD interoperability). These are accessed via the Grid Systems "Settings" button. That's my "It in a nutshell" reply.
