Applies To        Product(s): AECOsim Building Designer   Version(s): 08.11.09.566   Environment:  N\A   Area:  Dataset and Content   Subarea:  Family/Part   Original Author: Alessandra Fugazzi, Bentley Technical Support Group       Background How to migrate/upgrade BXF files that were part of the Dataset used in Bentley Architecture to AECOsim Building Designer? Steps to Accomplish 1. Copy the BXF files from the dataset used in Bentley Architecture to the dataset in use in AECOsim. Make sure that the BXF files are copied to the exact same path. For example if the BXF files are doors, the path will be ..\frame\doors 2.Open the BXF file in Frame Builder in AECOsim and upgrade it by assigning the Part & Family available in AECOsim. Select SETTINGS and assign Part&Family (at this point it is possible, if necessary, to modify other commands or DIMENSIONS settings too) - Click on "Update" - Insert a name (or leave the existing one) and save it as a Parametric Frame File After having saved it as a Parametric Frame File, the upgraded BXF file appears in the folder of the dataset 3. It is now necessary to define a "Catalog Item" by using the Cell name and the type of BXF Parametric Cell: - Create a new Item - Define as "Parametric Type" BXF and as "Parametric File" insert the name of the BXF file that has been upgraded: and Save It should be now available in the list when placing a door
