Jydeda, If you have the Filled Spaces option ON, but the spaces are co-planar or contained within the solid geometry of a slab, then they will not display with the color fill.  You could try one of a couple different things.    First, you could move the spaces up vertically so that they are slightly above the slab to see if they are then filled with the Part's color.    You could also leave the spaces in the same location and turn off the level for the slabs (or whatever solid geometry may be masking the space).  Lastly, if there is nothing in the forward view other than the spaces and possibly a slab, you could turn the Forward View Display Style for the DV from Forward-Drawing to Wireframe.  This will still display the spaces as filled if you have the Filled Spaces option ON.
