Forum Post: SS5 and 3D Mouse

Hello Apologies if this is now redundant. One of my minor, (but still valid I feel) 'gripes' about MS/AECOSim is that when using the 3D mouse (from 3d Connexion), when you turn ON Axis Lock, it then 'locks off' the roll/tilt function of the 3D mouse. So suddenly using it becomes fiddly/clunky. You find yourself continually having to turn Axis Lock ON/OFF during periods of use. Has this/will this be corrected in SS5 I guess it's actually and MS issue as it happens in plain MS (and has done since V8i ..... c'mon folks, ..... once, maybe, ... 3 or 4 times, .....groan), but I'm posting it here as it seems that AECOSim will be updated before MS (maybe not?) Another thing, ..... the facility/method for re-locating the centre of rotation isn't really 'of much use'. The only way at present to do this seems to be to use a 'tentative point' (to the location you want to rotate around). Problem then is when you release to the 'tentative point', to use a tool, it looses the centre of rotation and reverts to the default (which generally is the approximated centre of the whole model) Anyway, will someone at Bentley Systems please give this a thorough run through and see what can be done about it?
